At Mildenhall Montessori, we’ve operated for over 50 years on a few simple beliefs. That school should be a place where kids can always be their true selves. That a child’s creativity and resourcefulness should be encouraged and celebrated, not stifled. And that at the end of the day, the happier a child is at school, the more successful they’re proven to be there.
Today, these beliefs continue to guide the empathetic and engaging people we hire, the authentic and accredited Montessori teaching methods we follow, and the progressive, unpretentious learning environments we create.
They are the reason we place such emphasis on independent thinking at a time when many schools promote intellectual conformity. Why we respect children’s thirst for responsibility and give them opportunities to develop self-esteem, rather than assuming they’re “too young” to be challenged or learn important life skills. Why we keep class sizes small and create custom learning plans for each child, rather than forcing them to learn concepts the exact same way and at the exact same pace.
And why we’re passionate about the promise we make to parents each and every day: to look at every interaction and every decision as an opportunity to make our schools your child’s other happy place.
Our mission is to
From the carefully constructed environments to the mindful interactions of the teachers to the mixed age classrooms to the three year learning cycles, our schools focus on preparing our children academically, socially, and emotionally to be entirely future friendly.
We are a diverse community that recognizes and celebrates diversity of ethnic and racial backgrounds, religions, sexual orientation, cultures, genders, learning styles, and physical and cognitive abilities. We actively create inclusive environments that foster understanding and appreciation of differences. Our faculty, staff, students and families represent a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, experiences, and languages.
Our guiding values are trust, respect, connection, accountability, and challenge.
The result of the process from early years to middle school is a well prepared, confident, independent, and thoughtful learner, who can excel not only in school but in life.
